Home Decor & Upcycling

Home Decor on a budget :)

So….. After having the dining room decorated earlier in the year I decided to make some co-ordinating home decor items. Let me explain what each item is and how it was made on a budget 🙂

Canvas Picture

This picture was made using the leftover wallpaper that was used to decorate our feature wall in the dining room. I upcycled an old canvas that no longer matched the decor in our house.

Framed Fabric Remnant

Here I used a budget boxed picture frame (£1.99 from Home Bargains) and inserted a fabric remnant that co-ordinated with the wallpaper.

Upcycled Cushion

An old fur heart cushion was given a new lease of life and looks great on my dog’s sofa (yes she has her own leather chair!). The fabric was purchased from Dunelm Mill and cost £3.99.

Fabric Covered Canvas

I managed to make one last co-ordinating piece by covering a smaller canvas with the remaining fabric. Cost of canvas was £1 from Pound World.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have found some inspiration.

When crafting makes you smile :)

Hello! and welcome to my first blog post (teeth clenching times!)

I’ve been stuck on what topic to base my first blog post on when… I came across this lovely post on Facebook that I was tagged in. It’s from  lady that is on the same card swap group that I am part of.

After receiving a lovely get well wishes card from her, I decided to return the #rak by making her an A5 craft folder fully loaded with #tags #embelleshments #sentiments and a dried flower bookmark.  Nothing was rehearsed, I simply “winged” everything that I made (haha).

It is lovely to hear that my crafty work made someone smile and gave them some of my creativity and ideas.

Let me know what you think? Comments welcome 🙂
