Simple Stamping #30 Handmade Masked Card

How to make a handmade card for beginners using masking technique

Welcome to today’s blog which is Episode 30 of my Simple Stamping Series and this is an adorable handmade Card using the masking technique. In this tutorial I decided to use the Wildly Happy stampset and I also added colour with some stampin’ blends and some basic adhesive backed sequins.

This set is featured in our Annual Catalogue – why not Contact me to get a free copy.

I decided to go with a crumb cake coloured card base and whisper white stamping layer.

I also incorporated some basic masking techniques in this tutorial.

All products used are listed below for your perusal.

Instructions and Measurements:

Card Base:
Cut a piece of A4 cardstock down the longest side to 4 1/8″ and fold in half or score at 5 7/8″

Card Layer:
Stamping layer measures 3 7/8″ by 5 3/8″ – I decided on two eighths of an inch border to show off that lovely crumb cake card base.

Stamping & Colouring:
I stamped the elephant image onto a post it note first and cut it out by hand. I then stamped the elephant image again, this time on the stamping layer of the card. I covered it with the mask and stamped the other two animals from this set, one on either side.

I used co-ordinating combo pack of the crumb cake light and dark Stampin’ Blends as well as the combo pack for Grey Granite.

Embellishments and Decoration:
To finish the card off I added some co-ordinating basic adhesive backed sequins that really make the card pop.
