Learn how to make this handmade card with a lock system
Hi and welcome to today’s blog which is to showcase our wonderful Designer Series Paper – today’s project is episode #8.
I decided to use the Beautiful Pressed Petals DSP for this card, I think it turned out stunning. The main focus of this card is the lock style design – the butterfly punched image locks the card, and to release, you simply pinch it’s wings together and open – easy.
This is the first time that I have made this style of card, and I’m really happy at how easy it was and how lovely it turned out. I used the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and co-ordinating Butterfly Duo Punch.
I hope you like it.
This stamp set and co-ordinating punch is in our annual catalogue – why not Contact me for a free copy.
The colours I chose were Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and Ink, and also the lovely Very Vanilla Cardstock which co-ordinates beautifully with the darker colours.
All products used are listed below for your perusal.
Instructions and Measurements:
Card Base is Rich Razzleberry and this measures 4 1/8″ x 5 7/8″
The DSP is pressed petals DSP and measures 3 7/8″ x 5 5/8″
Adhere your DSP to your card base and punch out a section using the everyday label punch (I done it the long way on my tutorial video)
Line the inside of card with very vanilla cardstock.
Punch out a solid colour butterfly and position /adhere on inside of card, so that it is completely centred underneath your punched label section.
Stamp out a butterfly and position on top of your solid butterfly. Manipulate the wings so that they can pop through your label section.
Add ribbon, sentiment section to card front and further stamping to the inner card layer if you desire.
