DSP #23 A Handmade Card using Stampin’ Blends

Welcome to today’s DSP Episode #23 A Handmade Card using Stampin’ Blends

Hello everyone and welcome to another blog post. Today is DSP #23 a Handmade Card using Stampin’ Blends. Today’s project uses some of our peaceful poppies suite consumables namely our lovely designer series papers.

The Stampin’ Blend choice colours I chose today are Old Olive and Blackberry Bliss light and dark. The co-ordinating green for this suite is mossy meadow, but as I don’t have blends in that shade, I compromised with Old Olive which goes very well too.

In this suite are various lovely poppy elements and I decided to use the velum embossed elements. By using an alternative use of the elements by colouring them with my Stampin’ Blends too, I made the card even more co-ordinating.

The colouring of some basic pearl jewel embellishments with the blends also finished the card off nicely.

Blackberry bliss is the card base colour choice today, with a matt layer in mossy meadow.

The finishing touches of the co-ordinating sentiment’s stamp set really finishes this card off. My Mossy Meadow ink pad is needing re-inked so I’ve remembered to add one to my next order.

I made use of a little scrap piece that was left over from the DSP to add extra layers inside my card.

Start off by cutting a piece of blackberry bliss cardstock and folding in half for your card base.

For the matt layer make sure this measures 3 7/8 x 5 3/4 and adhere to card base.

Add your DSP which should measure 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhere to card.

Cut a piece of your remaining DSP and use reverse print. This is to measure 3 3/4″ x whatever height you wish. Cut a piece of whsiper white 1/8″ or 1/4″ smaller in height. Stamp chosen sentiment to left side and adhere to your card.
