Make it Monday #52 Varied Vases handmade card idea

Hello and welcome to another blog post I am so happy you are here today. Today is the 52nd Make it Monday episode making an awesome handmade card using the varied vases stamp set. I decide to match this up with some of the Pressed Petals DSP. Products used today are available in our annual catalogue and my online store.

Colours chosen today I feel co-ordinate really well. I must admit that initially I wasn’t sure. It worked out in the end. Mossy meadow, soft suede and daffodil delight were my main colours for this card.

In order to achieve a rustic look I fluffed up the edges of both the matt and the DSP layers. For the DSP I added mossy meadow ink around the edges first so that I wouldn’t rip the paper (it’s speciality remember).

Doilies are a great addition to any card and I would normally use the pearilzed side but today I flipped it over to use the matt white side. Using my 2 1/4″ circle punch I used the remaining DSP I had left and used the reverse side to the matt layer. This co-ordinated very well with the soft suede matt layer.

Stamping

I pre-stamped and punched out the tallest of the vase images and picked and stamped my favourite stem and floral images. My images were then fussy cut out and had a bit of colour added to them using my blends.

These elements, as well as the daffodil delight stamped sentiments, were raised up with mini dimensionals. I think it turned out really pretty.

Before adhering together I added and fluffed up the edges of a strip of mossy meadow cardstock. This was to allow the doily to stand out more and not blend too much into the patterned DSP behind it.
