Creating a brick effect background in card making

Creating a brick effect background in card making couldn’t be easier. The purpose of this style of card today is to inspire members of my Facebook Group to take part in our 42nd Challenge.

Crisp Whisper white card was used for both the base and stamping layers today. I made full use of my decorative masks (stencils) to help create this effect. Embossing was also incorporated in today’s project, and that gold card looks amazing!

I stamped with two stamp sets today, but only used the sentiments. These were the Comfort and Hope as well as the Tasteful Touches. The both of these are pictured below for you to have a closer look.

I saw the original inspiration for this card over on Natasha Foote’s channel. She’s a YouTuber from New Zealand and I love her creations. Now whilst this card is similar I did change it up to suite myself and the products I have to hand.

I used two different embossing folders were used on the gold card. These were Brick & Mortar and Old World Paper embossing folders.

The colours chosen for today’s background were Sahara Sand, Basic Grey, Soft Suede, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso. You can find our full range of ink colours in my online store.

Please take the time to view my time lapse video over on YouTube. I have linked the video at the end of this blog.
