Or perhaps you’ve been thinking that you’d quite like a new hobby. Maybe you want something relaxing, something creative or simply something you can enjoy at home, at a class or with a lovely group of like-minded people.

🌸 Beginner Papercrafting Ideas: Introducing More People to Card Making & Crafting
I want to introduce MORE people to papercrafting!
However, when I say more people, I don’t just mean those who already have cupboards overflowing with stamps, ink and pretty papers 😂
Instead, I’m particularly looking for people who are completely NEW to crafting.
For example, maybe you’ve never stamped before. Perhaps you’ve never made a handmade card, or maybe you simply don’t consider yourself creative.
In fact, the last time you did anything involving paper and glue might have been at school!
That’s absolutely fine. In fact, you’re exactly who I’d love to reach.
✂️ “But Tricia… I’m not creative!” – Crafting for Beginners & First-Time Card Makers
I hear this one ALL the time.
However, here’s something I’d really like you to know:
You don’t have to be “creative” to start crafting or card making
For starters, you don’t need to be able to draw. Likewise, you don’t need beautiful handwriting.
Most importantly, you certainly don’t need an entire craft room full of supplies!
After all, that’s what I’m here for.
I can show you how stamps, ink, cardstock, beautiful patterned papers and a few simple tools can come together to create something lovely.
Then, afterwards, you can genuinely look at your finished project and say…
“I MADE THAT!” 💕
And, believe me, that feeling is pretty special.
🌿 The Benefits of Crafting: Relaxation, Creativity & Mindful Hobbies
This is something I’m really passionate about.
Of course, I love making beautiful things. And yes, I get ridiculously excited about pretty paper 😂
However, my creative time gives me so much more than a finished project.
For me, it’s time to switch off. More importantly, it’s something I can do just for me.
At the same time, it’s a chance to slow down and focus on what’s sitting on the table in front of me.
In addition, through crafting I’ve found friendship, community and confidence. I’ve also met a wonderful group of people I may never otherwise have known.
That’s why I want to encourage more people to give it a try.
💕 New Hobby Ideas: What If You’re Looking for Something Creative to Do?
Maybe this sounds familiar…
“I really should get myself a hobby.”
Perhaps your evenings involve far too much scrolling. Alternatively, maybe you’d like to meet some new people.
Perhaps you’re looking for something you can enjoy from home. Or maybe you’d simply like a couple of hours every so often when you’re doing something that isn’t work, housework or looking after everybody else!
If so, papercrafting might just be worth trying.
Best of all, you don’t have to decide that you’re going to become a lifelong crafter.
Instead, just start by having a go.
💷 Beginner Crafting on a Budget: Do I Need Expensive Supplies?
Absolutely NOT.
In fact, if you’re completely new, I’d much rather help you work out what you actually need than see you buy loads of craft supplies you don’t know how to use.
So, start small and learn the basics first. Then, as you begin discovering what you enjoy, you can gradually add to your supplies.
After all, there’s no reason to buy everything at once!
However, if the crafting bug gets you, we can eventually talk about the mysterious way craft supplies seem to multiply when nobody is looking 😂
👭 Craft Classes for Beginners: What If I’m Nervous About Joining a Craft Workshop?
First of all, you won’t be the first person to feel like that.
Please don’t worry about turning up and finding a room full of expert crafters producing masterpieces while you’re wondering which way up the stamp goes!
My classes are about enjoying yourself and learning.
For example, you can ask as many questions as you need to. Everyone makes mistakes, and squint stamping ALWAYS happens at least once!
Furthermore, when things don’t quite go according to plan, we can simply laugh about them and try again.
Most importantly, there are no crafting police at Smith’s Crafty Creations!
Therefore, whether you’ve crafted for years or have never picked up a stamp in your life, you’re welcome.
Complete beginners are very, very welcome.

Well… that’s where things can get even more exciting.
Firstly, you might simply discover a lovely new hobby.
Then, perhaps you’ll start coming along to classes. Alternatively, you might decide that crafting at home is more your thing.
Before you know it, you might become one of my regular customers and, along the way, find yourself becoming part of our wonderful crafty community.
Eventually, some people decide they’d like to take their crafting journey a little further. As a result, they start asking me about becoming part of my Smithy’s Stampers Stampin’ Up! team.
Of course, everyone has different reasons for being interested.
For example, some people are interested in the benefits of joining, while many love being part of the community.
Naturally, we all love our craft products too! 😂
Meanwhile, others decide they’d like to take things a little further and build a small crafting business of their own.
However, there is absolutely no need to think about any of that right now.
For today, I’m asking you one very simple question…
