Autumn Handmade Card with Gorgeous Layered Details🍂✨

Autumn handmade card in Cajun Craze and Golden Glow with layered foliage and Glow of Harvest patterned paper

Autumnal Vibes Handmade Card 🍂✨

There’s just something about autumn crafting that I absolutely love. The warm colours, beautiful patterned papers, gorgeous textures… and of course, the opportunity to add a little bit of sparkle! 😂✨

Today I’ve been creating this gorgeous Autumnal Vibes handmade card, and I’m really pleased with how all of the different elements have come together.

I’ve gone for a lovely warm colour combination of Cajun Craze, Golden Glow and Very Vanilla, paired with the beautiful Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper.

It definitely has all the cosy autumn feels! 🍁

The Colour Combination 🎨

For this card I used:

  • Cajun Craze Cardstock and Ink Pad
  • Golden Glow Cardstock and Ink Pad
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock

Cajun Craze is one of those colours that just screams autumn to me. 🍂 Pairing it with Golden Glow gives the card even more warmth, while Very Vanilla softens everything beautifully.

It’s a combination I can definitely see myself using again!

Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper 🍁

The Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper really helps bring this whole project together.

I love using patterned paper when I’m card making because it does so much of the hard work for us. You don’t need to be able to draw or paint a beautiful background when you have gorgeous papers ready to use!

For this card, the autumnal colours in the paper worked perfectly alongside my cardstock choices.

Adding Detail with Dies & Embossing

I wanted plenty of interest and texture on the card without making it feel too complicated.

The Greenery Lane Bundle added some lovely decorative detail, while the Spotlight on Nature Dies helped create the layered focal point.

I also brought out the Seasonal Cheer Embossing Folder to add even more texture.

Embossing folders are such an easy way to take a plain piece of cardstock and make it look completely different. Just that little bit of raised texture can make a huge difference to a handmade card.

And Of Course… A Little Sparkle! ✨

Could I really finish an autumnal card without adding some sparkle?

Probably not. 😂

I used Antique Pearls for a pretty finishing touch and added some Wink of Stella for that subtle shimmer when the light catches the card.

Sometimes it’s those little finishing details that really bring everything together.

Supplies Used ✂️

Here’s everything I used to create my Autumnal Vibes card:

  • Cajun Craze Cardstock
  • Cajun Craze Ink Pad
  • Golden Glow Cardstock
  • Golden Glow Ink Pad
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock
  • Glow of Harvest Designer Series Paper
  • Greenery Lane Bundle
  • Spotlight on Nature Dies
  • Seasonal Cheer Embossing Folder
  • Antique Pearls
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Take Your Pick Tool
  • Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Wink of Stella

You certainly don’t need every crafting product under the sun to make beautiful cards, but I do love mixing patterned paper, die cutting, embossing and embellishments when I want to add lots of lovely detail.

Bringing All Those Autumnal Layers Together 🍂

For the main focal point, I created a large circle using the Spotlight on Nature Dies and then added texture with the Seasonal Cheer Embossing Folder. I absolutely love how much detail that embossing adds without needing another colour or patterned paper.

Then came my favourite part — building up all that gorgeous foliage! 🌿

I stamped and layered several leafy pieces from the Greenery Lane Bundle, mixing Cajun Craze and Golden Glow to tie everything back to the cardstock layers. Some pieces were stamped onto Very Vanilla, while others were created using Golden Glow cardstock, giving me lots of different tones without introducing loads of colours.

A little Wink of Stella across some of the leaves adds just enough sparkle. You really notice it when the card catches the light! ✨

The “here for you” sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze and layered onto coordinating cardstock before being added towards the bottom of the card.

Finally, a few Antique Pearls scattered around the design finished everything off beautifully.

There’s quite a lot going on when you look closely at this card, but because I’ve kept to the same small colour palette throughout, I think all those different layers, textures and patterns work really nicely together.

And remember — your card doesn’t have to look exactly like mine. Change the colours, swap the patterned paper, use the supplies you already have and make it your own.

That’s half the fun of crafting!
